A finder of goods is a person who finds goods belonging to another and takes them into his custody. Section 71 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 makes him subject to the same responsibility as a bailee. Sections 168 and 169 give him a right to keep the goods until his expenses are paid, a right to sue for a reward that was offered, and a limited right to sell.
