Real-life example

A chimney sweeper's boy found a jewel and left it with a goldsmith's apprentice to be weighed. The apprentice took out the stones and returned only the socket. The boy sued the master in trover, and the Court held that the action lay against the master.

ఒక చిమ్నీ స్వీపర్ బాలుడు ఒక ఆభరణం కనుగొని తూకం వేయడానికి స్వర్ణకారుడి అప్రెంటిస్‌కు ఇచ్చాడు. అప్రెంటిస్ రాళ్లను తీసి ఖాళీ సాకెట్ మాత్రమే తిరిగి ఇచ్చాడు. బాలుడు యజమానిపై trover దావా వేశాడు; ఆ దావా యజమానిపై నిలుస్తుందని కోర్టు చెప్పింది.
