Prohibitory Injunction — ప్రొహిబిటరీ ఇంజంక్షన్
A prohibitory injunction is a court order that forbids a person from doing an act. It is the opposite of a mandatory injunction, which compels a person to do an act. Section 38 of the Specific Relief Act, 1963 is the usual source of power for a perpetual order of this kind. The Act itself does not use the word “prohibitory”.

Ravi runs a flour mill in Guntur. His neighbour Suresh starts dumping waste on Ravi's yard. After the trial, the court orders Suresh never to dump anything on Ravi's yard again. The order stops an act. It is a prohibitory injunction.
