Irreparable injury does not mean that there is no physical possibility of repairing the injury. It means the injury must be a material one, namely one that cannot be adequately compensated by way of damages. Source: Dalpat Kumar v. Prahlad Singh, para 5.
Dalpat Kumar v. Prahlad Singh, para 5.
In Dalpat Kumar, the Supreme Court said the respondent could be adequately compensated if he won. Damages for use and occupation from the date of dispossession until restitution would cover his loss. So damages could adequately compensate him.
