Proposal (Offer) — ప్రపోజల్ (ఆఫర్)

When one person tells another they're willing to do (or not do) something, hoping the other person will agree — that's a proposal, or offer.

ఒక వ్యక్తి మరొక వ్యక్తికి తన అంగీకారాన్ని పొందే ఉద్దేశంతో ఏదైనా చేయడానికి లేదా చేయకుండా ఉండటానికి తన సుముఖతను తెలియజేసినప్పుడు దానిని ప్రపోజల్ అంటారు.

Real-life example

Priya tells Arjun, "I'll sell you my scooter for ₹40,000." That's a proposal — Arjun hasn't said anything yet, but Priya has clearly offered specific terms she's willing to be bound by.

ప్రియ అర్జున్‌తో, "నా స్కూటర్‌ను ₹40,000కి అమ్ముతాను" అని చెబుతుంది. ఇది ప్రపోజల్ — అర్జున్ ఇంకా ఏమీ చెప్పలేదు, కానీ ప్రియ నిర్దిష్ట షరతులతో ఆఫర్ చేసింది.

Common mix-up

People confuse a proposal with an invitation to offer — see that separate entry. A shop displaying a price tag is inviting offers, not making one.
