Samskara — సంస్కారం

"Samskara" is the Sanskrit term for a sacrament — one of the ritual milestones (birth, initiation, marriage, death, and others) that mark a Hindu's passage through life. Marriage (vivaha) is traditionally counted among these samskaras, which is why classical Hindu law treated it as a sacred rite rather than a civil bargain between two consenting parties.
